Tweeg is telling the bounders he's broke, and has
even run out of Nutmeg and Buttermilk so he can no longer even attempt
to make Gold. LB laments that Tweeg tells that same sob story every
payday, and remarks that Tweeg may want to start selling some of the
"worthless junk" laying around. Tweeg claims he doesnt have time for a
"yard sale" because of all the bad things he's supposed to do to join
MAVO, like swindling and cheating people.
Tweeg comes up with an idea to make fake medicine,
and then convince people they need the medicine.
The trio are unaware of
Tweeg's plot at first, and are outside for a picnic. Gimmick
tells Teddy and Grubby he wants to try out his new
invention. Grubby remarks that it better have something to with food.
Gimmick says it does, that it's a sandwich stretcher- basically it
makes sandwiches bigger.
Teddy has made a special
salad that includes cinnamon, honey and squash. Grubby has made "Root
Beer" for the picnic.
Dressed up as the medicine
wagon man, Tweeg makes the rounds starting with the trio. He starts
insulting them, such as calling Gimmick bald, then offers them remedies
for the things he claims that ail them. Tweeg tells Grubby one
swig of his magic potion will make Grubby "handsome". He offers Gimmick
a potion to grow hair, and Teddy a rock on a stick device that he says
will make Teddy taller. Teddy tells Grubby he likes him the way he is,
but otherwise the trio reluctantly agree to try the products. Tweeg
then charges the trio 14 pieces of silver, which they dont have.
Gimmick gives up some buttermilk and nutmeg instead.
The trio decide that none of
the devices Tweeg has sold them work, and throw them all away. Gimmick
says it has taught him a very valuable lesson= to be happy with who he
is.
Gimmick
plans to try out a new invention which will increase the output of
Popcorn. he calls it "Popcorn Pizzazz" when he
realizes he gave Tweeg the popcorn Pizzazz by mistake and still has the
nutmeg.
Tweeg is again attempting to
turn Buttermilk (and nutmeg) into gold. He puts the Pizzazz into the
recipe and popcorn explodes all over his tower. Tweeg starts crying.

to see a grown man cry. Personally, I love it."
SONGS-
"The

EPISODE REVIEW-
A very fun, lighthearted
episode. This was fairly early in the series and the overall theme
early on was to make the bad guys more inept rather than serious as
MAVO would become later. Tweeg's Medicine Wagon song is one of the best
in the series, and the scenes involving the trio running
around using the devices Tweeg had sold them were quite
humorous.
The theme of this episode is
universal- like yourself for who you are, and pay attention to your
good qualities rather than worrying so much about changing the things
that aren't perfect about you. Not talking to strangers was a subtle
theme of this as well for the younger audience.... and of course Tweeg
getting the raw end of the deal yet again stressed the importance of
being honest.
