TEDDY ON TELEVISION

Following the wild success of the animated Teddy Ruxpin toy and the storybooks and tapes that accompanied it, ABC commissioned a "Movie of The Week" featuring Teddy & co. in 1986.  It was live-action featuring animatronic characters and costumed actors. A 65 episode animated television series, The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin,  began production shortly after the TV special aired.
(see Series Synopsis and Episode Guide for more)

Hi-Tops Video released some of the series on VHS, - usually edited into small film length-  in 1987 but the majority of the series was not available on home video until it's DVD release(s) in the new mellenium. (see Where to Buy on DVD)

Phil Baron and Will Ryan continued to provide the voices of Teddy and Grubby, respectively, but the remainder of the cast of talent who participated in the audio storybooks were replaced by Canadian based actors.   (Check out the Cast List)
