Leota the
Woodsprite is the reason Gimmick's airship ever "got off the ground",
pardon the pun. Making her debut in the "Airship" story (and The
Treasure of Grundo episode in the TV series) She used her
aviation expertise to help Gimmick solve the last quirks in his new
invention- despite the fact he initally thought she didn't even
exist. Leota proved throughout the series to be a very
smart, sweet, caring and thoughtful character who added a lot
of value to the storyline.
Although small in stature, Leota is far from a small personality. She
is never afraid to stand up for what she believes in or protect those
closest to her. She bravely counters the Gutangs when they demand to
know the whereabouts of Teddy, and is instrumental in rescuing Teddy
after his tumble off the MAVO eclipse and rescuing Grubby and Gimmick
from MAVO headquarters.
Leota's biggest contributions come through education, as she is a
teacher by trade. Leota convinces Wooly to attend school, refine his
reading and geography skills and feel better about himself in the
episode "The Wooly Whatsit" and is always there to lend advice to all
the residents of Grundo.
