After
every episode of
"The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin" , Teddy would come on with a
celebrity guest and talk about issues pertaining to child safety. Aimed
at youngsters but with subtle hints to adults as well, these were
well-placed PSA's, and Teddy became the national spokesbear for
The National Centers for Missing & Exploited Children,
one of the premier children's advocacy and protection groups on the
planet. One of my personal heroes, John Walsh, (Host of America's Most
Wanted and father of crime victim Adam Walsh) is part of the board of
that group, and I can't sing it's praises enough.
